Sliding Gate Project

For many years, I had a double door gate to the back yard. Because of the slope of the driveway, i had to lift the large gate and swing it out. It was time for a different solution.

In researching gate options I found this sliding gate frame that had a max size of 12ft and was the least cost I could find.

After ordering, it took about 3 weeks to arrive. I then had to dig the 2 holes in the solid rock we have here in Austin. I did it by hand with a breaker bar. I did not use a jack hammer so I did not crack the driveway concrete.

Here are Pictures of building the gate and the final result. It is easy to slide and I did add a stopping device to prevent it from being opened from the front. This can only be setup or removed from being in the back yard.
